Common bearings failure and solutions


Bearing is an important part of machinery equipment,the bearing will be damaged in application.Different failure,FRB Bearings have different solutions.

1.Failure of grease or machine oil, wrong model selection
Solution: choose the right type of lubricant

2.Low oil level or insufficient grease
Solution: the lubricating oil must be below the center of the bottom of the rolling body, and the grease in the bearing box fills about 1/3 to 1/2 of the space



3.Improper internal clearance of bearing, such as shaft expansion when heated
Solution: choose bearings with proper internal clearance, such as switching from standard grade C3 or C3 to C4

4.The lubricant is contaminated by dirt, sand, carbon powder and other foreign substances
Solution: clean the bearing box, replace the new oil seal or improve the oil seal, and inject fresh lubricant

5.Water, acid, paint or other corrosive substances enter the bearing box
Solution: load protective moisture-proof covers or dust rings

6.The axle box is twisted and deformed or the inner hole is not round and too small
Solution: measure the inner hole size of the bearing box and turn it. Changing the non-fixed end bearing from cylindrical pigtail bearing to deep groove ball bearing may cause the inner hole to be tight or small

7.Bearing box before bearing assembly is not cleaned
Solution: clean the bearing box and add fresh lubricant

8.When airflow passes, the bearing leaks oil, as the air flow from the fan flows through the bearing
Solution: install the windshield to deflect air flow and use grease if possible

9.Bearing cross - alignment
Solution: insert spacers between the bearing box and the cover flange to release the pre-loaded load on the bearing

10.The shaft neck is too small or the neck fixing sleeve lock is not enough
Solution: spray the journal surface and grind it to the specified size or re-lock the sleeve

11.Tighten the sleeve too tightly
Solution: loosen the retaining screws and sleeve and re-lock until the force is sufficient, but make sure the bearing can rotate freely

12.Excessive loss of oil from bearing box separator
Solution: using a thin layer of sealing paint will help prevent oil from leaking without using the adjusting gasket and replacing the bearing box if necessary

13.Machine unbalanced load is too large, or bearing hole is too large
Solution: rebalance the machine or replace the bearing box with an accurate bore size

14.Due to the deformation of shaft and bearing box, the compound distribution on bearing is uneven
Solution: rework shaft and bearing box holes for proper shape and fit.But a new shaft or bearing box is usually needed

15.There are two positioning bearings on one shaft. Excessive axial expansion leads to insufficient internal clearance of the bearing
Solution: move the end cover of any bearing box out and insert the gasket to adjust the axial clearance of the bearing outer ring, so that the bearing can move freely in the axial direction

16.Improper platform support causes the bending of the shaft
Solution: rework shaft chamfering to eliminate stress, may need to add shaft shoulder clasp

17.The bearing is not adequately supported in the bearing box, resulting in distortion of the outer ring
Solution: rework the chamfering Angle of the bearing box to eliminate stress and may require shaft shoulder clamping rings

18 Shaft shoulder and bearing seal friction
Solution: rework shaft shoulder to eliminate friction

19 Deformation of bearing seals
Solution: rework the empty shoulder of bearing box to avoid bearing seal cover

20 Axis and inner ring deformation, bearing inner ring uneven expansion
Solution: rework shaft chamfering for proper support

21.The bearing box and outer ring are deformed and the bearing is extruded
Solution: rework bearing box chamfering for proper support

22.Rotating oil seal or dust ring friction static components
Solution: check the far - rotating clearance of rotating oil seal or dust ring to avoid friction and prevent unalignment

23.The oil level is not correct and there is no lubricant in the bearing
Solution: remove the plug of the stoma in the oil level gauge and make the oil level display correct

24.Bearings and shafts have different centers, or shafts and shafts have different centers
Solution: adjust the alignment between bearings by adjusting the gasket, or improve the alignment accuracy between shafts

25.The constant oil level cup is installed too high or too low, or in the opposite position from bearing steering
Solution: when the oil level is at rest, it should not be higher than the center of the bottom rolling body, or install the constant oil level cup in the exact position consistent with the bearing rotation direction

26.Other moving parts of the machine rub against the stationary parts
Solution: check the coordination gap between dynamic and static components

27 the bearing installation method is not correct, hammering the bearing
Solution: replace new bearings and standardize shaft installation

28.Excessive wear of bearing contact seal leads to loss of lubricant and contamination
Solution: replace the new oil seal, clean the bearing box and refill with fresh grease

29.Shaft shoulder or box shoulder or lock nut shall not be perpendicular to bearing position
Solution: rework the parts to get good perpendicularity

30.The machining size of shaft neck is too large, resulting in too small internal clearance of bearing
Solution: grind the shaft neck so that the shaft and bearings are properly matched

31.The bearing box is made of too soft material, which causes the outer ring of the bearing to slip in the box hole
Solution: enlarge the box hole and add a notification sleeve, then process the copper sleeve to the appropriate size
